How is this more secure?
Forms are submitted over SSL (Secure Socket Layer), which secures the connection between your visitors computer and the server by encrypting all transmitted data. As of SecureForm v3, a second method of encryption takes place on individual form data once the submission reaches the server. This encrypted data is stored within your client account database and is only decrypted in real-time after logging into your client portal. At no time is raw, unencrypted data ever being stored on the server. This option provides a higher level of security for companions who wish to use their SecureCompanion.com client portal to view/manage submissions rather than forward them to an off-server email address, which can pose a security or interception risk.
Are submissions stored anywhere?
Yes, as of SecureForm v3, an encrypted copy of your submitted form is stored in your SecureCompanion.com client account, which only you have access to. The form data is encrypted using an Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and is only shown in decrypted format when you login to your SecureCompanion.com client portal. At no point is raw (unencrypted) data ever stored on the server or accessible to anyone but you. Submissions can permanently deleted from your client portal at any time.
If you are using an earlier version of SecureForm (v2 or lower), form processor sends your submission directly from the contact form to your email address without the encrypted storage feature of v3 or higher. The only place submissions are stored are on your mail server. However, it needs to be understood that if you are having submissions sent to an off-server email address (ie: yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc) - the secured, SSL connection no longer applies once your processed form data leaves the server for delivery to your 3rd party mail server. For this reason, it is recommended that all companions upgrade to SecureForm v3, which provides more security options for off-server mail delivery. Can I edit my own form fields?
Yes! As of SecureForm v3, companions are able to create, edit or delete fields from their booking form from within their SecureCompanion.com client portal. You also have the ability to create additional forms for your website, such as a client testimonial form or a general contact form.
Do I have to use this form method if I host with Veda Designs?
No, but it is recommended that you do. Although not mandatory for hosted Veda Designs clients, I highly encourage everyone to take advantage of it for the sake of security.
